During the Las Vegas Aces’ 97-89 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson left the game due to what the team said was a head injury.

When Wilson moved up to defend a drive to the hoop, Dearica Hamby of the Sparks smacked her in the face. With 1:17 remaining in the third quarter, Wilson grabbed a towel to her nose and departed the game. Wilson never came back.

“She was bleeding,” Coach Becky Hammon of the Aces stated following the match. “Today, she will visit the doctor to find out what’s wrong. Other than that, I have nothing.
