U.S.C. star JuJu Watkins tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Monday night’s second-round game against Mississippi State, according to sources who spoke with ESPN’s Shams Charania. Watkins will miss the rest of the women’s NCAA tournament.

According to a team representative, Watkins will complete his season with surgery and then start rehabilitation.

The Trojans advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row after a 96-59 victory, which ended with Watkins needing to be helped off the court due to the injury.

As Watkins drove to the basket on a fast break between two defenders, she was fouled and her right knee buckled as she planted her leg, causing her to collapse to the floor. Watkins immediately grabbed her knee and stayed down for over a minute.
